MAUI MOONS: My wife and I were fortunate to be in Maui during a full October moon. These beautiful photographs of the full moon were taken in Kihei, Maui. I began photographing at 3:00 a.m. continuing through sun-up. The tide moved the Catamaran into a perfect position with the moon for several once-in-a-life- time shots. The moon, clouds and first light also created several exquisite photos.

MAUI SUNSETS: Maui sunsets are among the most beautiful in the world and these are no exception. These fantastic photographs were taken in Kihei, Maui, and captured the cloud-shrouded island of Lanai in the background. I was completely mesmerized and held captive by the rich, radiant colors until the last ray disappeared into the sea.

Northern California has its stunning sunsets, too. These photographs (images 1,2,3 in the Sunset Gallery) were taken at Francis Beach, Half Moon Bay, California. The bright red-orange hues of the setting sun, the muted colors of the surf, and the off shore fog create a stunning unforgettable photo.
